I loved making this, the tutorial really helped me build my confidence with necklines and arm holes. Can't wait to make more!
This pattern was a free PDF download with some instructions. This class made it so much easier to understand how to put the pattern together and finish the seams. The inside is almost as nice as the outside. I used an old shirt from my husband for fabric.
Thanks for the class! I learned a lot and really enjoyed the process, I hope you teach a pattern making class soon!
This class inspired me to dust off my machine, bust out my pin cushion and give garment-making a try. First effort: Summer shorts from an old pair of jeans for my son.
A collared dinosaur shirt, handmade by me using basic sewing techniques learned from Denise's class.
I opted to go with the right sides together so that it looked like a seam you'd find on denim jeans. I'm glad I know this skill, but I'm definitely getting a felled stitch foot before I start making my own pants!
Thanks for the great class, Denise, I had a really good time (and I say that as someone, who loves to start projects and then gets overwhelmed immediately) and can't wait to dive deeper into sewing!!!
Watched your training then followed the directions for this half zip pattern. My first one wasn’t great but I’m happy with this one! I live in a cold area so heavier fabrics are best for me!
This was so fun! I'm really new to this, and it was kind of funky looking, but I'm proud and more confident with entering sewing clothes.
Shortened the sleeves of a t-shirt and used the skills I've learning
I recycled my old bathrobe to make this cushion cover using what I learnt from the lessons. Thank you
I've made a tote bag (I think it's called that) as my first ever sewing project. This course helped me learn a lot about things I wouldn't care to look into otherwise. Thank you so much.
Loved making this romper and I added a velcro strip in the back instead of a zipper and a little “mama made it” tag love this course!
Really pleased with the final result and definitely more confident to go fabric shopping now! And I also got over my weird aversion to the iron 😀
I especially love Denise’s tape tip for straight stitch lines - I think I did a pretty decent job! Thank you for the comprehensive and thorough lessons, I had fun learning from you!
Black and white open front vest for high school marching band
Curves and french seam
Thank you
Split Side Skirt
French seam on shoulder
Practicing the techniques in scrap fabrics
I love my first thing
Remake of a skirt that was out of my budget
Thank you for teaching us all the basic

Denise is a great teacher. I appreciated watching her make and shrug off some mistakes in real time because it makes everything feel so much less intimidating. I hope there's more sewing videos from her!

Thank you so much for your patience and taking time thoroughly explain everything. I really appreciate you. I do plan to pop into your fav store when I am in the area!

Thank you Denise, I think your class is very clear and concise. I hope you can teach also how to follow a commercial pattern step by step.

I have sewn for years but I found these lessons to be so helpful. I have a much better understanding of some clever tricks used by the pros!

This is soo helpful if you are just starting, and I would definitely come back to the videos to reference some of these methods. This teacher is so kind and upbuilding.

One of the best teachers I've found in any genre, on any platform. I loved how slow and clearly she spoke, and her excitement was infectious!

Fantastic video for both beginner and intermediate. Seeing how others do seams, hems etc is great to have in ones arsenal. I also had a few chuckles as I went along. Great teacher. I only wish she had more classes 🙂

Clear, concise delivery from an engaging teacher. I'm excited to try French and flat felled seams on my next project :+)

I have never hand sewn or used a sewing machine until my brother bought me one for my birthday last month. Having watched a few youtube tutorials, that was as far as my experience went prior to this class. This teacher is fantastic, as long as you have properly learned how to thread your machine, she provides so much information and ways to remember things. I would recommend this to any one wanting to learn to use a sewing machine.

This course made me feel confident to dare to take on the different aspects of making my own clothes. The teacher is very warm and engaging and made me feel welcome. I wish I had the opportunity to take any physical classes she might be holding, but alas! I am very happy for the information on this course!

This is such a wonderful class! Denise has such a warm and approachable teaching style. Everything is broken down and organized in a way that makes it super clear and easy to follow. You also really get a sense of her passion for her craft and that makes the class very engaging, so much more so than just a tutorial. Highly recommend!

Such a great, low-threshold introduction to sewing! Learning to sew seemed so daunting, but Denise's class made it seem so fun and doable that I finally caved and bought a sewing machine. And I regret nothing! Bonus: Denise has a couple of super actionable little hacks to make sewing life easier and I'm always here for a shortcut!

Denise's positive energy and clear instructions make these series of lessons so enjoyable to watch and learn from. I've been so terrified of sewing machines lately (my bobbin threads always get tangled) that I hand sewed my last project of two pillowcases, but I think I may now be ready to try again.

I loved this class. Denise broke everything down in manageable portions that made sense. It is great to not be overwhelmed but to actually look forward to trying new things and building skills. Highly recommend this class!

Incredibly helpful! Thank you.

Good class for beginners or for those who haven't sewn for eons and need a refresher.
